Anne Huber’s pet Hans the Dog has paralyzed hind legs. He’s fitted with a special wheel that allows him to zip around his new job: as an inspiration for patients at the Florida Hospital Oceanside.

Our dog Muffin had a similar wheelie-set while she was recovering from back surgery after falling down the stairs vigorously.

You can’t keep a good dachshund down.

    Hello,
It was so inspiring to see the story done about Hans on Good Morning America. I am a nurse working at a VA hospital, and am sure that a dog like Hans could be so helpful to assist our veterans who have returned from Iraq, Afghanistan and other areas of conflict. These veterans are having to learn to use wheelchairs, prosthetic devices and how to totally adjust their lifestyles to accomodate for the injuries they suffered in war. Are you aware of anyone using a dog (like Hans) to assist veterans in making such transitions? Please email me at the above address either way, and thank you for sharing your story on television. What a wonderful dog you have and it is a special mission he is fulfilling!
    Jan Tillie
