Pakistan’s Garland of Cash.

By Alex in Everything Else on Oct 13, 2005 at 12:50 pm

It’s not a celebration in Pakistan until someone gives you a garland made from cash. But the party’s over since the government discontinued Pakistan’s five-rupee bank note and replaced it with a coin.

Florists are complaining that "Now one has to pay at least 200 rupees to buy the cheapest garland containing ten-rupee notes. And many these days can’t afford to pay that much money"

By the way, 5-rupee is about 9 US cents.
